Halloween Breakfast
Description
Any breakfast can be made festive with simple ways to decorate dishes, and a Halloween breakfast is no exception! One original way to serve fried eggs is to decorate them with ketchup and mustard in the shape of a skeleton. You can also cut vegetables in a creative way—for example, in the shape of a pumpkin. I recommend using toast bread—it will taste better and look nicer than regular bread after frying in a pan. Serve the appetizer to the table.

Step 1

1. Peel the carrots and make lengthwise cuts so that, when sliced, the cross-section looks like a pumpkin. Cut small “pumpkins” from the carrots and, if desired, use a toothpick to cut out eyes and a mouth for them.

Step 2

2. Cut the bread into coffin shapes and toast in a dry skillet until golden. Spread with mustard and draw a cross using ketchup placed in a bag with a snipped corner.

Step 3

3. Make fried eggs: carefully fry the egg on one side in vegetable oil so the yolk stays intact. Salt and pepper to taste. Finish cooking under a lid.

Step 4

4. Using ketchup, draw eyes and a mouth on the yolk, and using mustard, draw the body.
