The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. It's a unique dessert that looks incredibly aesthetic. Baking it is a pleasure, and that adds a special flavor to the cookies. Especially since no extraordinary skills are required. Just sandwich two shortbread cookies with strawberry jam. And a strawberry heart will make this dessert especially touching and symbolic for Valentine's Day. 1. Squeeze the juice from one lemon. Mix it with 1/2 cup of ice water. Add to the well-rubbed mixture of flour and butter. Add a pinch of salt. Knead the dough very quickly. Shape it into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about an hour.

2. Then take the chilled dough out of the refrigerator and roll it out. You should get a thin sheet (0.5 cm thick). Now cut it into rectangular pieces, making sure the number of pieces is even.

3. Take one half of the cut rectangles. Spread them with strawberry jam. Shape the strawberries into hearts and place them on top. Then take a heart-shaped cutter and cut out a heart from the second half of the rectangles.

4. Place the jam-coated rectangles with strawberries, then cover them with the remaining cookies – the ones with cut-out (embossed) hearts. Decorate the edges of the cookies using a fork. Sprinkle with sugar on top.

5. Bake the cookies at the standard temperature of 180 degrees. When the cookies turn golden brown, serve them with morning coffee to your closest loved one.
