Cream puffs
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. The most important thing in this recipe is to make the "right" dough, so follow the instructions carefully and everything will turn out great. Remember churros? Those are also cookies made from choux pastry, but instead of baking in the oven, they're fried in deep oil. Serve warm or cooled. Ideal with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, pour water and add butter cut into cubes. Add salt.
- 2
Step 2
Place the pot over medium heat and, stirring constantly, wait until all the butter has dissolved in the water. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 3
Step 3
Immediately add the sifted flour to the saucepan and vigorously stir until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the pan.
- 4
Step 4
Transfer the hot batter to a large bowl and add the eggs one at a time, mixing the batter vigorously.
- 5
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Grease the baking sheet with oil, sprinkle with flour, and shake off the excess flour.
- 6
Step 6
Transfer the dough into a piping bag and pipe round cookies, spacing them apart.
- 7
Step 7
Bake the cream puffs in a hot oven for 10 minutes until golden brown.
- 8
Step 8
Place the finished cookies on a rack on the table and let them cool completely.
- 9
Step 9
Using a pastry syringe, fill the cream puffs with the desired filling and serve.
