Description
Boil the potatoes and prepare mashed potatoes. Make a sauté from carrots, minced meat, peas, and spices. Then layer them in a heatproof dish. Bake in a preheated oven for 20–25 minutes.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

You will need potatoes, carrots, half an onion, frozen green peas, ground beef, breadcrumbs, nutmeg, a little milk, butter, and olive oil.
- 2
Step 2

Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water. Then make mashed potatoes by adding a little milk and nutmeg to the potatoes.
- 3
Step 3

Meanwhile, sauté the onion over medium heat in a small amount of olive oil.
- 4
Step 4

Grate the carrot and add it to the onion, simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- 5
Step 5

After a few minutes, add the minced meat and a little white wine (optional) or water. Simmer, covered, over medium heat.
- 6
Step 6

Add frozen green peas and continue simmering with the lid closed.
- 7
Step 7

When the peas become soft, add a tablespoon of tomato sauce or paste. Simmer for another 5–10 minutes. The liquid should evaporate; the filling should not be too watery. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 8
Step 8

Grease the mold with butter and coat with breadcrumbs. Add a layer of filling.
- 9
Step 9

Place the prepared purée on top (using a spoon or in droplets, whichever you prefer). You can use a piping bag or syringe with various nozzles. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and place a few peas of butter on top.
- 10
Step 10

Bake at 200°C for 20–25 minutes, or until a golden crust forms. Let the casserole stand before serving, allowing the puree to settle slightly.
