
Carrot and Potato Casserole

1. For baking, it's best to choose potatoes of the same size. Peel the potatoes and carrots and slice them into equally thick, preferably thin rounds (so that all the ingredients cook evenly). Grease the baking dish with a piece of butter. Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan.

2. Layer the vegetables in the prepared baking dish. Start with the potatoes, arranging them from the center to the edges, brush with melted butter, season with salt and pepper, add spices, then repeat the same steps with the carrots.

3. We finish the top layer with potatoes, brush with oil. Preheat the oven to 210 degrees. If desired, to make the dish juicier, you can pour a small amount of water or cream over the layers.

4. Place the pan with the arranged vegetables over heat and fry for 4 minutes. Once you hear the oil start to sizzle, transfer the pan to the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After half an hour, take out the dish, tightly cover it with foil, and return it to the oven for another 15 or 20 minutes. After baking, let it cool down, then invert the dish onto a plate and remove the ready casserole.
