
Mackerel casserole
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Mackerel casserole is a standalone dish, delicious both hot and cold. Serve it cut into portions, sprinkled with chopped herbs or alongside fresh vegetable slices. If you don't like mayonnaise, you can partially or completely replace it with sour cream. You can also add spices or herbs to the mackerel casserole to your taste. Serve hot.

1. Thaw the mackerel completely and wash it. Remove all the bones and cut the fish into small pieces.

2. Peel the potatoes and slice them into rounds. Place the sliced potatoes into boiling water and cook for 3-5 minutes.

3. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. A cheese with a neutral flavor works best, but you can choose any cheese to your liking.

4. Grease a casserole dish with vegetable oil and place half of the boiled potatoes in it in an even layer. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then lightly coat the top with mayonnaise.

5. Evenly place pieces of mackerel as the second layer. Season with salt and pepper, and spread with mayonnaise.

6. Place the remaining potatoes in an even layer over the fish, making sure they completely cover the mackerel.

7. Again, salt, pepper, and spread mayonnaise, then evenly sprinkle the top of your future casserole with grated cheese.

8. Bake the mackerel casserole in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for about 40-45 minutes. The top of the casserole should brown nicely.
