Baked Lavash with Cheese and Herbs
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Thin lavash dishes are often made for festive tables or picnics. Try stuffing thick lavash—it will be very tasty and won't take much time. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

We cut this lavash matnakash in half lengthwise.
- 2
Step 2

We'll work with the lower part, and set the upper part aside for now.
- 3
Step 3

Mix mayonnaise with tomato sauce: use this mixture to spread on the cut surface of the lavash.
- 4
Step 4

Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream. Place sliced cooked meat on the lavash. This can be boiled meat, sausage, ham, hot dogs, or any other of your choice.
- 5
Step 5

Chop the herbs, tomatoes, and bell pepper. Place all of this on top.
- 6
Step 6

Grate the hard cheese on a grater. Spread it over the filling. Cover with the top part of the lavash (the cut "lid") and transfer the entire dish onto a baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Bake the lavash for 10 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Before serving, you can sprinkle with herbs and/or garlic pressed through a garlic press. It's better to cut the lavash while it's warm.
