Baked potato with ham
Description
To speed up the cooking process, you can boil the sliced potatoes for 3-5 minutes before baking. Drain the water and let the potatoes cool slightly before layering them in the baking dish.

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Grease a large baking dish with oil. Heat the butter in a large skillet. Add the diced onion and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the onion becomes translucent.

Step 2

2. Add the diced ham and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until well heated. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3

3. Mix the cream and milk half-and-half in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 1 minute. Set aside. (You can add salt, but since the cheese and ham are already salty, season lightly.)

Step 4

4. Mix the two types of grated cheese. Set aside.

Step 5

5. Slice the potatoes into 3 mm thick slices. Place 1/3 of the potatoes into the greased dish.

Step 7

7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes. Cut into squares, sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired, and serve.
