Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients. Wash the potatoes and peel them. I'm using young potatoes, which can simply be scrubbed well with a brush to remove the skin. Wash the pork fat; you can use either fresh or salted fat, but if salted, make sure it's well rinsed to remove excess salt.

Step 2

2. Cut the fat into pieces up to 1 cm thick; fat that is too thin will burn in the oven within an hour.

Step 3

3. Cut the potatoes in half, without cutting all the way through; you can make a wedge-shaped cut to insert a piece of bacon. Salt and pepper the potatoes both inside and outside. Brush with vegetable oil to form a delicious crust.

Step 4

4. Grease a heat-resistant baking dish with oil, place the potatoes and bacon inside, cover tightly with foil, and bake in a preheated oven at 200-215 degrees for 40 minutes.

Step 5

5. Uncover the foil, return the potatoes to the oven for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Step 6

6. Sprinkle the baked potatoes with chopped garlic and herbs, and serve hot. Enjoy!
