Baked minced meat
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. You can use any type of ground meat for this baked meatloaf—pork, beef, mixed, or chicken. You'll need only a few ingredients, but the result won't suffer at all. Moreover, this dish turns out much healthier than regular fried cutlets, since it's baked. You can use onion either raw or sautéed; the same goes for the spices. You can use any cheese, but make sure it's of good quality and melts well. Serve the baked ground meat with your favorite side dish, sauce, or fresh vegetables. The dish is ready to be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making baked minced meat. Peel and rinse the onion. Wash the egg in warm water and dry it.
- 2
Step 2

Crumble the bun into a bowl and pour milk over it, leave it on the kitchen counter for 5-10 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Place the meat mince into a bowl—I used equal amounts of pork and beef—and add an egg.
- 4
Step 4

Add mayonnaise to the minced meat or replace it with sour cream or natural yogurt.
- 5
Step 5

Chop the onion finely in any convenient way—I grated it on a coarse grater—and add it to the bowl with the minced meat.
- 6
Step 6

Mash the bun with milk into a homogeneous mass and add it to the mince.
- 7
Step 7

Add water to the bowl and mix. Season with salt and pepper, then mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 8
Step 8

Beat the prepared minced meat well to make it dense. To do this, gather the meat in your hand, lift it above the bowl, and drop it back in. Repeat 10-12 times, until you achieve the desired consistency.
- 9
Step 9

Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. This will help remove excess moisture and easily remove the baked minced meat from the dish.
- 10
Step 10

Transfer the minced meat to a baking dish and level the top.
- 11
Step 11

Place the dish with the minced meat in a hot oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

Grate the hard cheese on a medium grater. Take out the pan with the baked meat filling and sprinkle the top with grated cheese.
- 13
Step 13

Return the pan back to the oven and cook for another 10-15 minutes until a golden crust forms.
- 14
Step 14

Remove the baked minced meat from the oven, let it stand for 5-10 minutes, cut into portions and serve.
- 15
Step 15

Serve at the table.
