Baked apples with cream
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. For baking with cream, it's best to use firm, tart apples without any signs of spoilage. Apples can be baked either in individual molds or in one large baking dish. If desired, they can be topped with berries, nuts, or, as I do, with mint leaves. The finished dessert can be served at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for baked apples with cream. Wash the apples thoroughly and dry them.
- 2
Step 2

Place the egg yolk in a saucepan, add sugar, and rub thoroughly.
- 3
Step 3

Sift the flour into the saucepan with the yolk and rub until a smooth, lump-free mixture is obtained.
- 4
Step 4

Pour half of the cold milk into the saucepan and mix until smooth.
- 5
Step 5

Heat the remaining milk over low heat and, while constantly stirring with a whisk, slowly pour in the egg-flour mixture in a thin stream. Cook, stirring, until thickened.
- 6
Step 6

Remove the saucepan from the heat and, without stopping stirring, add the butter. Stir the cream until smooth.
- 7
Step 7

Place a layer of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the cream to prevent a skin from forming. Leave the cream for 10 hours to cool completely and stabilize.
- 8
Step 8

Cut off the tops of the apples and remove the cores, leaving walls about 1 centimeter thick.
- 9
Step 9

Pour 2 tablespoons of water into each baking mold and place the apples in them. Put in a preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees.
- 10
Step 10

Remove the molds with apples and fill the inside of the apples with cream.
- 11
Step 11

Bake the apples for another 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the apples from the oven, let cool, and serve.
- 12
Step 12

Serve at the table.
