
Baked Tomatoes with Cheese
Description
Baked Tomatoes with Cheese — a tasty and hearty appetizer. There’s nothing better in summer! You can serve these tomatoes straight to the table in the same dish they were baked in. Spread the tomato-and-cheese mixture on croutons or fresh ciabatta and enjoy. Serve the dish in the evening before dinner, or as a hot appetizer with a glass of chilled white wine. 1. Lightly crush the garlic cloves with a knife and peel off the skins.

2. Wash the tomatoes, cut them into four parts, and remove the stem.

3. Wash the basil, pat dry with a paper towel, and chop by hand or with scissors.

4. Finely chop the garlic. In a large bowl, mix (with your hands) the garlic, tomatoes, and basil. Add salt, black pepper, vinegar, and olive oil. Mix everything thoroughly once more.

5. Place the spiced tomatoes on a non-stick baking sheet greased with olive oil. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 15–20 minutes.

6. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater (while the tomatoes are baking).

7. Add cheese to the ready tomatoes — sprinkle it on top of the tomatoes. Return the dish to the oven for a few minutes. As soon as the cheese melts, baked tomatoes with cheese are ready! Serve with your favorite fresh bread.
