Baked seafood with cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta for 2 minutes less than indicated in the instructions. Drain the water, rinse with cold water, and set aside. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the melted butter in a bowl. Add onion and garlic to the saucepan and cook until soft, for 3 to 5 minutes. Add flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add milk and whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook until the sauce thickens, for 2 to 3 minutes. Season with 3/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, and nutmeg. Remove the saucepan from heat. Mix seafood, pasta, and cheese, then transfer the mixture into a baking dish. To the bowl with reserved melted butter, add breadcrumbs and Creole seasoning, mix well, and sprinkle over the pasta mixture. Bake until golden, for 15 to 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serve hot.
