Baked beef tenderloin

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Here is a simple recipe for baked beef tenderloin with step-by-step photos. Not all cuts of beef are suitable for roasting in the oven. The tenderloin is ideal and easy to roast, while the rib section and shoulder require a bit more effort—but the result is well worth it. If you're unsure of your skills, wrap the meat in several layers of thinly sliced bacon, tie it with kitchen twine, and place it in a hot oven; the bacon will prevent the meat from drying out. Good luck! Serve the finished dish at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Tie the beef tenderloin with kitchen twine so it holds its shape. Season the meat with salt (approximately 1 teaspoon), let it stand at room temperature for about 1 hour, covered with plastic wrap.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. After the meat has marinated, pat it dry with a paper towel and coat it with melted butter. Line a baking sheet with foil, place a rack on top (as shown in the photo), and put the meat on the rack. Roast in the preheated oven for 55–70 minutes, turning occasionally. The main thing is not to overcook and dry out the meat.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

While the meat is in the oven, prepare the flavored oil. Place the butter in a bowl, add dill, parsley, onion, and squeeze in the garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Mix everything well.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Wrap the resulting butter in plastic wrap like a sausage, as shown in the photo, and place it in the refrigerator. It can also be stored in the freezer for several months.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the beef tenderloin and sear for 1-2 minutes per side (4-8 minutes total), until each side develops a golden-brown crust.

    Step 6

Slice the butter and place it on top of the seared tenderloin (as shown in the photo). Let the dish rest for 15 minutes.
