Frozen Fried Mushrooms
Description
Homemade preserves keep for a long time. I want to tell you how to make frozen fried mushrooms—a wonderful preserve for all of life’s occasions, as they say! You can use these mushrooms as a pie filling, as a side-dish addition, and as a base for all kinds of salads. Try making this useful preserve yourself. The preserve is ready for winter storage.

Step 1

1. Wash the mushrooms, remove all small debris, and pat them dry slightly. Thinly slice the onion.

Step 2

2. Sauté the mushrooms with the onion for about 20 minutes, until all the liquid from the mushrooms has evaporated. They should darken and shrink slightly in size. Season to taste, but I do not recommend using oil.

Step 3

3. Now let the mushrooms cool slightly, then pack them into bags and, once fully cooled, place them in the freezer.

4. And that's all! In winter we take them out, thaw them right in the frying pan—and enjoy them at our leisure!
