Cabbage pie with kefir filling
Description
A delicious treat for the whole family. This poured cake won't take much time and is perfect when unexpected guests arrive, or simply as a quick, hearty snack for your family. Today I'm sharing a classic recipe for a poured cabbage pie, but you can use any other filling you like: canned fish with rice, minced meat, potatoes, onion with egg, sausages with cheese, mushrooms, etc.—it's up to you. The dough turns out tender and fluffy, with a golden crust—absolutely delicious.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients from the list.
- 2
Step 2

Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage and rinse. Cut into short, thin strips. Place on a preheated skillet with oil.
- 3
Step 3

Cover with a lid and cook until tender.
- 4
Step 4

Peel the onion and finely chop it. Grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Add to the cabbage in the pan. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 5
Step 5

Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage reaches the desired tenderness. Young cabbage will cook faster than mature cabbage. Transfer the cooked filling to a bowl to cool.
- 6
Step 6

In a deep bowl, beat the eggs with salt.
- 7
Step 7

Add kefir.
- 8
Step 8

Sift the flour and add the baking soda.
- 9
Step 9

Mix everything until smooth.
- 10
Step 10

Grease a heat-resistant pan with sides. Dust the bottom and sides with flour or semolina. Pour half of the prepared batter into the pan and carefully spread it evenly over the entire pan with a spatula or spoon. Evenly distribute the prepared cabbage filling over the bottom layer of batter. It's important not to leave any "bare spots" so that every piece of the pie will be filled with delicious filling.
- 11
Step 11

Then pour the remaining batter on top, carefully spreading it to cover the entire surface of the pie. The soft dough will soak into the delicious filling, binding all the ingredients together. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Use the golden-brown top as a guide.
- 12
Step 12

The cabbage pie with kefir filling is ready. Cover the pie with a paper towel and let it rest and cool slightly before slicing. Cut the warm pie into portion pieces. The cabbage pie is delicious both warm and cold.
- 13
Step 13

Ready. Serve at the table.
