Snack Roll
Description
Suitable for both holidays and everyday meals. This appetizer looks elegant on the table, and of course it is also very tasty, beautiful, and easy to prepare. If desired, you can add fresh cucumbers cut into sticks to the filling—the result will be even juicier. The dough uses the most affordable ingredients, and the filling base consists of light cream cheese and red fish. Be sure to adorn your holiday table with this simple yet striking dish.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Beat the eggs with 1/2 tsp. salt and mayonnaise.
- 3
Step 3

Add the flour, starch, and baking powder.
- 4
Step 4

Beat everything together once more until smooth.
- 5
Step 5

Take any herbs (I used parsley), finely chop, and combine with 7 tbsp of prepared dough.
- 6
Step 6

Line a baking sheet (mine is 24 by 34 cm) with parchment paper. I additionally greased the parchment with oil and sprinkled it with semolina, but if you’re confident in the quality of your baking paper, you can skip this step. Pour in the batter. On top, randomly spread the green batter over the white batter. Slice the olives into strips and scatter them randomly across the entire surface as well.
- 7
Step 7

Bake the roll in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Remove the finished cake layer from the paper, roll it into a roll, wrap it in parchment, and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Then carefully unfold it back, spread with cream cheese, and scatter lightly salted salmon randomly on top.
- 10
Step 10

Roll up the roll, wrap it in paper again, and place it in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours until fully chilled.
- 11
Step 11

The appetizer roll "Ussuri Tiger" is ready. Before serving, slice it and garnish with fresh herbs.
