
Czech Appetizer
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. Fish in tomato sauce, pickled cucumber, and onion are everyday items for a bachelor snack. Yet you can turn them into an excellent appetizer and set a beautiful table. Have doubts? Try this recipe—make it and taste it; the flavor will surprise you. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.

Step 1

First, peel the onion and dice it into small cubes. Pour boiling water over it and add a tablespoon of vinegar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Open the jar of fish and transfer all the fish, with as little sauce as possible, onto a plate.

Using a fork, flake the fish.

Cut the cucumbers into small cubes.

Into the plate with the fish, add the cucumbers, onion squeezed free of marinade, and chopped herbs. Mix. If needed, you can add the sauce left in the can, or vegetable oil.

The appetizer can be served in a salad bowl, or placed directly on open-faced sandwiches. Slice the black bread; you can lightly toast it in a toaster.
