Appetizer
Description
A delicious appetizer for any gathering. The appetizer is called "New Year's Canoe" because of how it looks—if you serve it on a long, narrow plate, it really does resemble a canoe with canoeists sitting in it. I like this New Year's appetizer for how easy it is to make, how it looks, and how it tastes—the ingredients go together beautifully and make a very original and delicious appetizer.

As you can see, only 3 ingredients are used in the preparation — fish, cucumber, and cheese.

First, peel the cucumber.

Cut the cucumber into wide half-moons, about 1 cm wide.

Place a small amount of cheese on the cucumber halves.

Cut the fish into thin slices.

Carefully wrap the cucumber with cheese using a slice of fish. Secure with a toothpick.

Place the finished appetizer on a narrow oblong plate—and there you have your canoe! :)
