1. Prepare the dates. If necessary, remove their pits.

2. Cut a tart apple or pear into small cubes. Place a piece of fruit inside the date.

3. Stuff all the dates the same way. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C.

4. Horizontally cut each slice of bacon in half. Wrap each date in bacon, then place on the rack. Set a baking sheet lined with foil underneath.

5. Bake the dates in a preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, until an appetizing golden crust forms. That’s it—the “Unusual” appetizer is ready to serve.
