Step 1

1. The main ingredients needed for this dish are quite simple. If desired, you can buy cream cheese with herbs or add chopped herbs and mix thoroughly. For the appetizer recipe "Dragon's Delicacy" made with red fish, you can use absolutely any herbs you like—dill, parsley, onion, basil, lettuce, and so on.

Step 2

2. An important stage of the process is preparing the fish. You can use smoked or lightly salted fish; however, it must be clean fillet. First, make sure there are no bones in the fish, then carefully cut it into thin slices, slicing it off the skin.

Step 3

3. Place a sheet of parchment paper for baking or plastic wrap on the table. Arrange the fish pieces so there is a slight overlap and no gaps between them. The fish should be in close contact. Carefully spread the cream cheese over the surface of the trout, leaving a little free space around the edges. Wash the herbs, dry them thoroughly, and place them on top of the cheese.

Step 4

4. Carefully roll everything into a roll using parchment paper or plastic wrap, pressing firmly. For the “Dragon’s Tenderness” appetizer to hold its shape well when made at home, place the roll in the refrigerator for about 2 hours without removing the parchment.

Step 5

5. Just before serving, slice the roll into portion-sized pieces and arrange them on lettuce leaves. If desired, garnish this appetizer with olives or nuts.
