Description

The recipe won't take much time. Ham and cucumber canapés are an excellent appetizer for dry red wine. The dish works well for both a buffet and any celebration, and will be not only a tasty addition to the overall menu but also a decoration for your table. Let me tell you how. Serve with greens and sauce.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Cut thin slices of white loaf bread; if needed, cut them in half diagonally.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

The bread pieces will serve as the base for the appetizer. Now fry them until golden brown on a well-heated skillet greased with vegetable oil.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Finely chop the herbs and mix them with softened butter; season with salt and mix well again.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Now brush the still-warm pieces of toasted bread with a mixture of butter and herbs. The butter will melt slightly and make the bread more tender.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Wash the cucumber, trim off the “butt ends,” and slice it very thinly. A mandoline or vegetable peeler is the easiest way to do this.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Then thinly slice the ham into small pieces and proceed to assemble the appetizer. On a base of bread with butter and herbs, place a piece of cucumber, then the ham, and finish the composition with an olive—thread a decorative toothpick through it to secure the canapé. You can garnish this appetizer with a sprig of parsley or other herbs to taste.
