
Stuffed Dates with Bacon Appetizer

Perfect for the table and with drinks. Salty bacon, sweet dates, sharp cheese, and crunchy almonds — an incredibly delicious combination. This hearty appetizer is surprisingly easy and quick to make, yet it looks stunning. It works equally well for a picnic or a party with many guests. When preparing this dish, you can use blue cheese instead of goat cheese.

1. Cut the dates lengthwise along the long edge and open them. Fill with goat cheese and place an almond in the cavity. Cut the bacon slices in half lengthwise to get 32 strips.

2. Wrap each stuffed date in a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick or skewer.

3. Place the appetizer on a baking sheet. Broil the appetizer in the oven on the “grill” setting, or grill it (10 cm from the heat) until done, about 5 minutes per side.
