Puff pastry tongues
Description
Making puff pastry for tarts is not difficult; you will need the following ingredients: about 230 g of flour, plus a small amount for dusting and rolling out the dough, a pinch of salt, 30 g of lard, 215 g of butter, and 150 ml of cold water. You can find the puff pastry recipe on our website. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Thaw the ready-made puff pastry. Dust the work surface with flour. Roll out the pastry into a sheet using a rolling pin.
- 2
Step 2

Lightly dust the dough with flour so the dough doesn't "run" after the knife.
- 3
Step 3

We cut the dough into triangles and place them on baking paper so that the pieces do not touch each other.
- 4
Step 4

Brush each piece of dough with beaten egg and sprinkle generously with sugar. I additionally use sesame seeds as well.
- 5
Step 5

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake the tongues in the oven for about 12-15 minutes until they reach the desired browning. You can bake them longer for more browning or keep them lightly browned. In my opinion, well-browned ones taste better.
