Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Buckwheat porridge with apple flavor and aroma will be welcome not only for breakfast but also for afternoon tea. You can add various flavorings while cooking, such as cinnamon, vanilla, etc. It is especially delicious with sour cream or thick classic yogurt of any fat content, or condensed milk. The ready dish can be served.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use apples of any variety.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Pour the millet into a deep container and cover with water. Rinse several times, changing the water until it remains clear. You need to wash out all the starch from the grain to remove its bitterness.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Rinse the grain, then transfer it to a cauldron, saucepan, or pot with a non-stick bottom. Add salt and sugar. Pour in warm water and boil for about 10 minutes, skimming off the foam that forms—there will be a lot of it.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Wash the apples in water, cut them in half, and remove the cores. Rinse again and dice or slice into strips of any size. Alternatively, you can grate the apple flesh on a coarse grater, in which case the apples will be virtually unnoticeable. Add the apple pieces to the container and mix. Simmer for another 3–5 minutes until the fruit pieces become soft.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

When the porridge is almost ready, stir in a piece of high-quality butter and turn off the heat. Let the porridge sit covered in the container for 2-5 minutes to swell.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Place the millet porridge into bowls or deep plates and serve hot. It can be topped with sour cream or condensed milk.
