Instructions

Step 1

First, buy 6 round pot-style rolls at the store. Before you start cooking, preheat the oven to 175°C and prepare the fillings for the egg dishes. Then cut a hole in the rolls and remove the soft interior.

Step 2

Grease the inside of each ramekin with melted butter; season with pepper and salt. Place the rolls on a buttered baking sheet (so the ramekins do not stick).

Step 3

Next comes the most important and most creative step in making eggs in a bread pot. The first sauce layer is either ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, or finely chopped onion. The second layer is cheese: feta, gouda, parmesan, or brynza. The third layer is vegetables or herbs—dill, parsley, basil, bell pepper, or tomatoes. And on top, crack an egg.

Step 4

Then the bread pots go into the oven and bake for about 20–25 minutes, or until the egg yolk sets. If you prefer a runny yolk, take them out a little earlier.
