English-style fried eggs
Description
Suitable for both holidays and everyday meals. The classic English fried egg breakfast is usually served with crispy toast and beans. Here is a recipe that is far from unique but deserves special attention. 1. Place bacon slices on a dry, unheated skillet. Fry them well over low heat. When most of the fat has rendered and the bacon is lightly browned and crisp, remove it and place it on a plate. You can briefly rest it on paper towels to remove excess fat. 2. Crack the eggs carefully into the skillet with the rendered fat, without breaking the yolks. Fry over low heat until the whites are set and the yolks remain runny. 3. While the eggs are cooking, finely chop washed and dried fresh herbs. You will also need a few tomato slices for serving. 4. Place the finished fried eggs on a plate next to the bacon and season lightly with pepper. Garnish the plate with herbs and tomato slices. 5. If desired, you can also fry finely chopped onion and a clove of garlic in the remaining bacon fat until golden and spoon them over the fried eggs. This English fried egg recipe is simple and quick; in just a few minutes you can feel like you are having a real English breakfast. It can be served warm or chilled.
