Poached eggs at home
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Poached eggs are a favorite among children, who love to soak up the runny yolk with bread crumbs. Eggs prepared this way can be placed on a bed of leafy greens or fresh vegetables, making the flavor more varied and rich. You won't need to pour the egg into a water well, trying not to overcook it—this method is easier and simpler to prepare. The finished dish can be served immediately.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Use a convenient container, such as a bowl, ramekin, or cup with a wide opening. Cut a piece of plastic wrap without any damage or holes, place it into the container forming a small pocket, so that the edges of the wrap extend beyond the container's rim. Lightly coat the inside of the plastic wrap with vegetable oil and crack a chicken egg into it. Immediately place a pot of water on the stove and bring the liquid to a boil, then reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
- 3
Step 3

Salt and pepper the chicken egg.
- 4
Step 4

Cut another piece of plastic wrap to use as a tie. Gather the edges of the plastic wrap from the bowl into a pouch and tie it with the cut piece. The chicken egg will be inside the plastic wrap pouch. Prepare the second pouch in the same way.
- 5
Step 5

Place the pouches in a saucepan with gently boiling water for 2-3 minutes. After 2 minutes, the egg white will be firm but still wobbly, and the yolk will be liquid.
- 6
Step 6

After 3 minutes of cooking, the egg white will become firm, while the yolk will remain runny. Cook only over the lowest heat, so that the water barely trembles.
- 7
Step 7

Carefully remove the poached eggs from the container, trim off the film and discard it—it will come off easily thanks to the vegetable oil. Place the eggs on slices of bread or over a salad.
- 8
Step 8

Make a cut so the yolk can flow out and enjoy the excellent taste of the dish you've prepared.
