Barley grits
Description
Boiled pearl barley porridge can be the main ingredient in many hearty and nutritious dishes. Adding milk, berries, or dried fruits makes for a great breakfast, while preparing the porridge with meat results in a delicious lunch or dinner. It's a mistake to add grain by eye, as the cooked porridge may turn out too thick or undercooked, regardless of whether you use water or milk. It's important to follow the correct proportions: 200–250 ml of water per 100 grams of grain. To achieve a sticky consistency, increase the water amount to 400 ml. Today I want to show you a very filling and tasty way to prepare pearl barley. Yes, it will be quite caloric, with bacon, fried onions, and fresh herbs. Watch this
