Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. First of all, choose good, firm apples. Wash them and dry thoroughly.
- 2
Step 2

2. Skewer them with sticks (preferably pointed and not too thin, to support the weight of the apple) and place in the refrigerator for at least 15–20 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

3. Meanwhile, prepare the caramel. In a small saucepan, add the sugar, condensed milk, corn syrup (you can also use cornstarch, previously dissolved in water), butter, a pinch of salt, and vanilla extract. Place over low heat and cook the caramel until the sugar is completely dissolved (about 15 minutes).

Step 4

4. Let the prepared caramel cool slightly, then dip the cold apples into it.
- 5
Step 5

5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with butter. Place the apples on it and let the caramel harden completely (after 15-20 minutes, you can put it in the refrigerator).
- 6
Step 6

6. The caramel should thoroughly coat the apple and harden completely. Meanwhile, you can prepare the chocolate glaze. It's quite simple—melt the chocolate with butter over a water bath.
- 7
Step 7

7. You can cover the entire apple with glaze or just one half—it's up to you.
- 8
Step 8

8. Next, you can decorate the homemade caramel and chocolate apples with chopped nuts, for example.

Step 9

9. Or decorate with icing using a piping bag. Let your imagination run wild, as there are countless ways to make caramel and chocolate apples. Then, place the apples in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
