Apple tart with caramel
Description
The recipe won’t take much time. When turning the hot dessert onto a plate, be careful not to burn yourself with the hot caramel! But you need to do this exactly when you take the pie out of the oven, otherwise the caramel will harden later and you won’t be able to turn the pie over.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use apples of any variety.
- 2
Step 2

Melt the butter or replace it with high-quality margarine. Crack a chicken egg into the container with the butter, add sugar and salt. Gently whisk.
- 3
Step 3

Add the wheat flour in portions, kneading the dough.
- 4
Step 4

Place the shortcrust pastry in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to chill.
- 5
Step 5

Sprinkle half of the sugar for the caramel onto the bottom of the pan, preferably cast iron or non-stick.
- 6
Step 6

Rinse the apples, remove the seeds, and slice them. Place them on the sugar and sprinkle the remaining sugar on top. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 7
Step 7

Carefully roll out the dough into a round sheet and place it on top, gently tucking it along the edges of the pan so that the pie has sides. Place the pan in the oven. There is no need to grease the dough with anything.
- 8
Step 8

Bake the tart for about 30 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- 9
Step 9

Then remove the pan from the oven and cover it with a plate; very carefully invert it upside down so that the tart falls onto the plate with the pastry side down. Proceed very carefully, as the caramel is hot and can cause burns!
- 10
Step 10

Let the dessert cool slightly and serve it. You can complement it with a scoop of ice cream.
