Step 1

So, let's begin. For the dough, mix flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water.
- 2
Step 2

Mix a firm dough and knead it on the work surface without adding flour for 15 minutes. Wrap it in a bag and place it in the refrigerator for about 40 minutes, or better for 1 hour.
- 3
Step 3

Melt the butter.
- 4
Step 4

Cut the apples into small cubes. I used green sour ones, they pair perfectly with sweet dried fruits.
- 5
Step 5

Place the apples in a deep dish, add dried fruits, nuts, cinnamon and sugar. Mix everything and drizzle with lemon juice.
- 6
Step 6

Roll out the dough on a towel dusted with flour, and carefully begin to stretch it in all directions.
- 7
Step 7

That is why the dough is called stretched. You need to “stretch” it until it becomes transparent, but the main thing is not to tear the dough.
- 8
Step 8

Brush the dough with butter and sprinkle a thin layer of breadcrumbs.
- 9
Step 9

Place the filling and spread it over the entire dough, leaving a 1‑2 cm border.
- 10
Step 10

Using a towel, carefully roll up the roulade. Meanwhile, brush each layer of dough with butter.
- 11
Step 11

Seal the strudel with the free edge of the dough, and pinch the ends. Brush with butter.
- 12
Step 12

Also, using a towel, transfer the roll onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 13
Step 13

Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180 °C for 45–50 minutes. During baking, brush the strudel several times with butter.
- 14
Step 14

When our strudel is baked, dust it with powdered sugar and drizzle it with caramel.
