Description

Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. This recipe belongs to traditional baking, so it's a wonderful way to delight and impress your guests with delicious, aromatic pastries. Traditionally, strudel is filled with fruits, berries, nuts, and dried fruits. The key is to have thin dough, which ensures the pastry turns out exceptionally tasty. I always make the dough from scratch, as I don't really trust store-bought versions. The pastry is ready. Serve it at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

    1. I sift the flour into a bowl, add salt and a teaspoon of sugar, mix at low speed with a mixer.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

    2. I slowly pour in drinking water and sunflower oil in a thin stream, continuing to mix with a whisk for about 10-15 minutes. I cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it "rest".

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

    3. Wash the green apples, peel them, cut in half, remove the seeds, and slice the fruit into small pieces.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

    4. I pour cold water over the raisins and let them soak for 10 minutes, then drain and place them in a bowl. I add the apples, cinnamon, and remaining sugar to the same bowl and mix well.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

    5. Lay a towel or soft cloth on the table, sprinkle it with flour, and place the dough on top.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

    6. Using a rolling pin or by hand, stretch the dough to the size of the cloth, constantly dusting it with flour; it needs to be made very thin.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

    7. I sprinkle the dough with powdered sugar, brush it with softened butter, and then sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

    8. Place the previously prepared apple filling onto the dough, leaving a 2-centimeter border on all sides.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

    9. Using a cloth, roll the dough into a roll, making sure the filling does not fall out.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

    10. I line the baking sheet with parchment paper, place the strudel on it, brush the top with butter, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

    11. I put the baked goods into a preheated oven at 220 degrees for 45 minutes, then take it out and, while still hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

    12. I slice the slightly cooled strudel into pieces, arrange them on a plate, and serve with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
