Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for the pie. Wash the eggs and sift the flour. You can substitute baking soda with baking powder. If the kefir is natural (homemade fermented), there's no need to activate the baking soda. If it's store-bought, it's not acidic enough, so it's better to neutralize the soda with vinegar.

Step 2

Combine the eggs with sugar and beat with a mixer until the volume increases by at least three times.
- 3
Step 3

Pour in the kefir and vegetable oil. Mix well.

Step 4

Add the flour and baking soda. Mix the dough well with a mixer at low speed until there are no lumps.

Step 5

Grease the baking pan with vegetable oil or line it with parchment paper (I also grease the parchment with oil). Pour in the batter and smooth it out with a spatula. Peel the apples, remove the cores, slice them into wedges, and insert the wedges into the batter. Bake the cake in a preheated oven for 40 minutes at 170–180 degrees Celsius.

Step 6

The apple pie is ready! Let it cool in the pan, then remove and cut into pieces. You can dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
