Apple pie
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. To make an apple pie, use ready-made puff pastry. It's better to use non-yeast pastry, but yeast pastry will work as well. I recommend using sweet-tart apples. By sautéing them in sugar with cinnamon, you'll remove excess acidity, yet the taste won't be overly sweet. You can skip brushing with apricot jam, but it adds shine and extra sweetness to the pie. The pastry is ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Take the cookies and crush them with a rolling pin in a bag.
- 2
Step 2

Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out the larger part, place it into a baking pan, and form the edges. Evenly arrange the cookies on top.

Step 3

Cut the apples into pieces, it's better to peel them. Simmer the apples with sugar and cinnamon, adding a little water. Then place the apples on top of the cookies. The cookies will absorb the apple juice during baking and prevent the dough from becoming soggy.

Step 4

Roll out the second half of the dough and cut it into strips. Make a simple lattice from the strips and brush it with egg yolk.

Step 5

Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. You can then spread apricot jam over the pie.
