Baked goods from stale bread

45 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

The baking is simple and quick. If a loaf of bread happens to go stale—whether it's a small baton or a whole brick, wheat or rye, it doesn't matter—I bake a quick pie for afternoon tea. It's very easy, fast, and requires no special skills at all. You can use any dried fruits in this bake, and apples or plums work great too. If you use rye bread as a base, feel free to add some gingerbread spice mix or even mulled wine spices—it will taste delicious! Just don't overdo it. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
