
Airy buns fried in a pan

This very simple recipe for fluffy stovetop buns will find its place in your cookbook. They turn out extremely soft and stay that way for a long time, and the dough is very easy to work with. Serve them with tea or coffee.

1. To prepare the starter, add yeast, sugar, and a little flour to slightly warm kefir. Mix well and let it sit in a warm, draft-free place for about 20 minutes.

2. Peel the potatoes and boil in salted water until cooked. Then mash into a puree and add a little pepper to taste. You can also sauté onions and mix them into the potatoes. For the recipe of fluffy pan-fried buns, you can use not only potato filling, as in this case, but any other filling of your choice.

3. When the sponge has become airy, pour it into the flour sifted with salt. Add the beaten eggs and a little vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly and knead into an elastic dough.

4. After about 45-50 minutes, you can start shaping the buns. To do this, place the filling onto a small piece of dough rolled out on a floured surface, then carefully seal the edges. Gently press the bun in your hands to shape it.

5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Fry the puffed buns on the skillet at home under a lid until a golden crust forms. Before serving, place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
