Eastern pumpkin sweet treat
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds, and cut it into small slices about 2-3 cm thick. Place the pumpkin pieces at the bottom of a pot and pour in a small amount of water—just enough to barely cover the pumpkin. Add sugar—approximately 100 grams of sugar for 6 small pumpkin pieces; the amount can be adjusted to taste. Simmer the pumpkin over low heat for 20–30 minutes until tender, taking care not to overcook it into a puree. Chop the walnuts finely. Once the pumpkin is cooked, let it cool, then sprinkle with the chopped walnuts and chill in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Serve the dessert with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, or kaymak (clotted cream). The dessert is now ready to be served.
