Puff pastry vol-au-vents
Description
Try making puff pastry vol-au-vents at home for any festive occasion. I guarantee your cooking skills will be greatly appreciated. Vol-au-vents can be made with various fillings—sweet or savory (to taste). Serve them cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Roll out the dough to an even thickness. Cut out 20 circles of the same size using a glass or a round mold (medium diameter).
- 2
Step 2

2. Cut out circles in the same quantity, but slightly smaller in size. Now place the circles on a baking sheet, brush them with beaten egg white, and "cover" the top with the second set of circles.

Step 3

3. Place in a preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. They should also rise slightly.

Step 4

4. While our preparations are in the oven, fry the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and add spices. To enhance the flavor, I also sautéed onions together with the mushrooms.

Step 5

5. Now comes the most important step – filling our vol-au-vents with the filling. If desired, you can add sour cream and garlic to the mushrooms to make them even more delicious. Once the vol-au-vents are filled, garnish them with fresh herbs and serve. They are equally tasty when served hot or cold.
