Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Treat yourself and your guests to a hearty yet light meal. This delicious stuffed pepper turns out perfectly using this recipe. The combination of bulgur with meat and vegetables is simply excellent. Cabbage with herbs also pairs wonderfully with the sauce and other ingredients. This dish can become the highlight of any festive table. For this, use peppers of different colors (red, green, orange). Choose spices to your taste, and add a mixed pepper blend to the filling. Before serving, you can add sour cream or mayonnaise for even more flavor. Serve the finished dish warm.

    1. Who doesn't love stuffed bell peppers? Probably no one. To prepare delicious stuffed peppers, you need minimal effort and two hours of time. The main ingredients are bell peppers, ground meat, and grain. I prefer using bulgur because it stays fluffy and doesn't overcook during simmering. Besides, bulgur is incredibly healthy and less caloric than rice. If you use turkey mince, you'll get a low-calorie finished dish—namely, a main course you can enjoy even in the evening. Mix the cooked bulgur with the ground meat, add sautéed onions and carrots (finely chopped). Season with salt and spices to taste. Now our task is to thoroughly mix the filling.

    2. You can use medium-sized peppers, as they cook faster and become softer. Remove the core and wash the pepper thoroughly.

    3. Fill the peppers quite tightly and place them in a saucepan or pot in which we will simmer them.

    4. In a skillet, sauté the onion and carrots with tomato paste (you can substitute with fresh tomatoes or tomato juice). Stuffed peppers love a rich red sauce, so don't skimp on the tomato. Sauté the onion and carrots until golden brown, then add the tomato (tomatoes) and a little water. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat. Pour the resulting sauce over the peppers, adding more water if needed (so that it covers the peppers by one-third).

    7. Simmer the peppers for about an hour, adjusting the heat. Initially, I bring it to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium and simmer for about 10 minutes. Then I finish cooking over low heat for 30-40 minutes. Add garlic 15 minutes before it's done.
