I'd like to point out that it's best to bake the cake layers in advance, letting them sit overnight before assembling the cake. Strawberries are just one of the possible options; you can also serve this with tea or coffee.

1. First of all, prepare the sponge cake. Melt the butter with milk until the butter is completely melted. Let it cool.

3. Carefully separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat them separately with sugar (5 tablespoons each). Then gently combine the beaten yolks with the whites and mix with a spatula.

6. Prepare two heat-resistant baking pans. Grease them with oil, dust with flour, and line with parchment paper. Place the dough into the pans and put them in a preheated oven at 180 degrees.

7. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Do not open the oven during baking! Let cool in the pan for several minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Leave overnight so the cake layers can properly settle.
