Delicious kuttabs with cheese and herbs
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. Kutabs are pastries made from thin dough with various fillings, fried on a dry skillet, then brushed with butter. However, they also turn out delicious when simply fried in vegetable oil, like regular pastries. The dough is incredibly tender, the filling tasty and juicy. By the way, don't overfill the kutabs—everything should be in moderation. I ended up with 8 large pastries. Give it a try! Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients. It's best to use fresh herbs, but in winter I use frozen ones; dill is simply ideal for this.
- 2
Step 2

2. Combine sour cream with butter and salt. Mix well.
- 3
Step 3

3. Add the flour to the dough in small portions. Knead first with a spoon, then by hand on the table.
- 4
Step 4

4. The dough should be soft and pliable, but no longer sticky to the hands. Place it in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap; let it rest for 25–30 minutes.

Step 5

5. While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. Grate the suluguni on a coarse grater and add chopped herbs.
- 6
Step 6

6. Mix with a fork, the filling is ready!

Step 7

7. Divide the dough into portions, depending on the desired size of the buns; I divided it into 8 pieces. Roll out each piece thinly on a floured surface. Place a portion of the filling in the center.

Step 8

8. Cover the filling with the dough, and crimp the edges with a fork.

Step 9

9. Fry the kuttabs on a hot skillet with a small amount of oil. Or you can fry them on a dry skillet and then brush with butter. Enjoy!
