Prepare the ingredients.

Rinse the cherries thoroughly and remove the pits.

Squeeze the juice from the lemon and add 2 tablespoons of the juice to the cherries.

Blend the cherries with an immersion blender, place on the stove, bring to a boil, and boil for 1 minute.

In a mixing container, place 2 egg yolks, then add sugar and starch.

Beat the egg mixture with a mixer.

Pour the hot cherry purée into the egg mixture, adding it in a thin stream while constantly stirring.

Pour the mixture back into the saucepan, place over heat and cook for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
