Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. I love everything made from cherries—various preserves and desserts alike. If you share my preferences and tastes, I can offer you a wonderful yet very simple recipe for cherries in syrup. This treat is something between compote and jam, and it's prepared quite quickly. If you make cherries in syrup at home, you'll be able to enjoy their excellent flavor all winter long. They also look great in various cocktails and make a wonderful addition to ice cream or cottage cheese. 1) First, thoroughly rinse the berries under running water and drain them in a colander. Once the cherries have slightly dried, carefully remove the pits. 2) After pitting the cherries, sterilize the jars using any convenient method. For example, I do this in the microwave. 3) Place the berries into the sterilized jars, filling about 2/3 of each jar. Pour boiling water over the cherries, cover the jars with lids, and let them sit for 20 minutes. 4) After this time, carefully drain the water and measure its volume. For every half liter of water, use 250 grams of sugar. 5) Pour the water from the cherries into a saucepan and add the required amount of sugar. Place the saucepan over low heat and bring the mixture to a boil. 6) Once the syrup comes to a boil, turn off the heat and pour the hot syrup into the jars with the berries. Add cloves to taste (1-2 buds per jar), seal the jars with lids, turn them upside down, and let them cool. As you can see, it's very easy and simple. So next time you decide to make preserves, try this recipe. I hope you'll like it. The ready dessert can now be served.
