Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the cherries, drain in a colander, and let excess liquid drip off. If using frozen cherries, simply sprinkle them with sugar and let them thaw.
- 3
Step 3

Remove the pits from the cherries. You can do this using a straw, a pin, or a hairpin.
- 4
Step 4

Sprinkle the berries with sugar. Mix and let stand for 2-3 hours so they release their juice.
- 5
Step 5

Boil the cherries for 10-15 minutes. If foam forms, skim it off with a spoon.
- 6
Step 6

Remove from the heat and strain the syrup through a sieve. Set the berries aside; they can be eaten as they are or used in baking, desserts, or drinks.
- 7
Step 7

Cool the cherry syrup.
- 8
Step 8

Then transfer it to a clean sterilized container. The ready cherry syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Cherry syrup is ready!
