
Cherry strudel

Homemade pastry for tea. Germans named a rolled dough dish "strudel." This dessert is prepared all around the world. Fillings can vary widely (both savory and sweet). This recipe involves making cherry strudel. You can buy ready-made dough at the store. This dessert can be prepared any time of year, but it's especially popular during fruit and berry season. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. To save time, you can use ready-made puff pastry. Fresh cherries are preferable, but if you want to make cherry strudel in winter and have frozen berries, that's no problem—frozen berries can be used as well.

2. Roll out the dough as thinly as possible. Then prepare the cherries: remove the pits and stems, and thoroughly rinse the berries.

3. Brush the surface with melted butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and crushed walnuts, then evenly arrange the berries on top.

4. Sprinkle cherries with vanilla sugar. Start rolling the strudel into a tube.

5. Beat the yolk and brush the surface with it using a pastry brush. Place the strudel in a preheated oven at 200°C and bake for about 20 minutes.
