
Cherry Roll
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Of course, it's best to use fresh, pitted cherries, but in practice, a roll made with canned cherries in their own juice turns out delicious too! So here's how to make it. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Warm the milk until slightly warm, add the yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Sift the flour.

Beat the eggs.

Add the remaining sugar and eggs to the milk, then mix in the softened butter and vanilla. Gradually add the flour and knead until you get a soft, elastic dough.

Place in a warm, draft-free spot for 1–1.5 hours—until doubled in size.

Divide into 2 parts and roll out. Sprinkle each dough layer with starch and place cherries on top.

Roll up two rolls.

And braid into a braid.

Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise for 15–20 minutes. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 40 minutes.

We slightly cool the finished roll, sprinkle it with powdered sugar, and cut it into portion pieces. :)
