Cherry pie from frozen cherries
Description
Cherry pies are the kings of baked goods. I love any baked treat with cherries, but cherry pies, especially open-faced ones, are my weakness. Golden crust, sweet-tart cherries, and a sea of delight... Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Put sugar into a bowl. I add 1 cup. The pie won't be too sweet since the cherries are quite tart. For preparing the pie, add eggs to the sugar in the bowl.
- 2
Step 2

Beat eggs with sugar. Add baking powder or baking soda neutralized with acid.
- 3
Step 3

Melt the butter. Pour it into the mixture. Beat well. Sift the flour and knead the dough.
- 4
Step 4

The result should be a nice, fairly liquid batter.
- 5
Step 5

Transfer the dough to a baking dish.
- 6
Step 6

The frozen cherries need to be thawed first, then remove the pits. Place the cherries on the pie, gently pressing each one into the dough.
- 7
Step 7

Sprinkle the top of the pie with almond flakes. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Bake the pie for about 40 minutes, or until done.
- 8
Step 8

The wonderful pie is ready. Try it—it's delicious even warm!
