
Cherry compote
Description
The drink is quick and easy to prepare. A simple cherry compote recipe. If you want to make the drink for immediate consumption rather than preserving it for winter, add cherries and sugar to boiling water, simmer for about 3 minutes, then cover and let cool completely. After that, the compote is ready to serve. This recipe includes information stating that the drink is ready to be served.

1. During cherry season, I always make preserves for the winter. I carefully sort the cherries, removing any spoiled berries and stems. Meanwhile, I put water in a large container and wait for it to boil.

2. Take a clean sterilized bottle and fill it with cherries (so that they occupy one third of the jar).

3. Pour boiling water and let it sit for about 5 minutes.

4. Drain the water back into the container and bring to a boil.

5. Add sugar and cook for about a minute.

6. Pour back into the bottle and seal with a sterilized lid. Invert the jar and cover it. After it has completely cooled (in one or two days), store the cherry compote in a pantry or cellar.
