Cherry cookies
Description
The baking is simple and quick. Cherry cookies can be made in many ways. I've shared one of them—the easiest, in my opinion. Actually, what we've prepared is more like a cherry pie. But when cut into squares, it turns into delicious cookies. The baking is ready. Serve it at the table.
Instructions

Step 1

First, rub the butter with sifted flour, sugar, and vanillin. Add eggs and baking powder. Finally, add the zest. Set aside a small portion of the flour mixture for later. From the main part, knead the dough.

Step 2

Wrap the dough ball in plastic wrap, cover the breadcrumb mixture, and place everything in the refrigerator for about 40 minutes. Meanwhile, take the cherries out of the freezer. We need to evaporate the excess liquid from the berries. To do this, simply heat the berries in a skillet with sugar. You can also use cherry jam instead, which will reduce the number of steps.

Step 3

Take the dough out of the refrigerator. Roll it out to fit the shape of the baking pan. Prick it with a fork to let the air escape.

Step 4

Place the strained cherries on the dough. Sprinkle the remaining dough crumbs on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for half an hour.

Step 5

Take out our baking sheet with the single piece of cookie. Cut the baked good into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon on top. The tea cookies are ready!
